If you’re a WordPress user, you’re probably on the lookout for great plugins to enhance your website or blog. There’s a show I listen to weekly, called WordPress Plugins A to Z, ably hosted by Marcus Couch and John Overall.
Each week, they each review 3 WordPress plugins and give their ratings of them (1-5). They are website specialists and both make their livings with WordPress.
I wanted to check out the YouTube Simple Gallery Plugin that they mentioned in Episode 162 (the link above will get you there). Since I have a YouTube Channel (I’d love for you to visit), I thought it would be nice to have a way to display some of my videos here on my website.
So I installed the YouTube Simple Gallery plugin and it was very easy to set up. When it’s installed, you’ll see the familiar YouTube arrow button, just click on it and you’ll see a screen pop up where you can add the URL from the video you want to display and then put in the title and a short description and you’re ready to go. There are a few ways to order the videos, that part of the plugin could use a little work to make it a bit more robust.
I’ve tried it out with four videos. I did want them displayed two to a ‘row’, but turns out, my blog width won’t allow, so the four are stacked.
If you have your own or someone else’s videos you’d like to display, this plugin was very easy to use.
