This Merge PDF tool is great for combining a string of 1-page documents you’ve scanned into one tidy document. You can find the tool here. I trust this tool since it’s part of the Sourceforge family of tools. Sourceforge is an open source conglomeration of different tools, very famous for Audacity, an audio recording program.
I’ve got a short 1 1/2” video that demos this tool, but I’ll talk a bit about it here. After you’ve downloaded and installed Merge PDF, you’ll see this screen. Next, just click the ‘Add’ button and your Windows/file explorer will come up and you’ll select your documents to add. After you’ve added them, you can easily sort and arrange to your liking.
When you’re ready, click the ‘Merge!’ and a screen will open for you to name your new document. Name it and when you click save, you’ll instantly be presented with your document!
Video on PDF Merge
When I tried to add and merge several multi-page PDFs, I got an error message. I couldn’t find any documentation on this, so I’m assuming this tool will merge only single documents. This tool is nice to use for being able to scan a multi-page document and then put it all together in one before emailing or saving it. It looks professional and saves you and your recipient from clicking to open multiple documents.
Give PDF Merge a try. If you know of other PDF merging tools, leave me a comment.
