When you decide to work with a VA, you will gain a partner, not an employee. A partner is someone interested in helping you succeed. An employee will put in the required hours and punch out.
Rates for trained VA’s will be higher than those of an hourly employee. However, your overall costs will probably be lower than costs associated with an employee. You choose how many hours per month you need. You would most likely have to extend set hours to an employee per week, paying for possible down-time.

The nitty gritty…
My practice is structured to work with clients on a retainer of at least 10 hours a month. I truly believe this arrangement benefits and serves my clients because I'll be able to understand your business better and contribute to your bottom line.
If more time is needed, the extra time is billed at the same rate and added to next month’s invoice. Unused time is not carried over.
This retainer system benefits you by setting aside time each month especially for you. Without a retainer in place, there is no guarantee time will be available.
Why a minimum of 10 hours/month?
It's been my experience that working with clients for less than 10 hours/month doesn't allow enough time to get to know you and your business well enough to establish a working relationship that will truly benefit you.
